Rattlesnake

Mike and I drove to Angeles Forest to look at a campsite today. Since this site is somewhat local, we thought we might as well look at it before we go to the trouble of packing up the car, only to be disappointed. We have been camping several times together and have always been disappointed with the digs. In every case, we camped at a place that was RV-accessible. I think that was the problem. From now on, only places that don't allow RVs. Today's site was lovely.

On the way home, we nearly ran over a snake, stretched 6-feet long across the pavement. We stopped the car and Mike got out to see if it would bite. It was a rattler! It coiled up and rattled at him! I said, "yeah, Mike, that's the biting kind." The road was not wide enough to allow us to go around it, so we had to make threatening sounds with the car until it slithered away.
