No-chocolate toffee recipe

I made this a couple days ago, and everyone who has tasted it develops a priceless look on their faces, like they all went to heaven. This is a recipe for people who can't have chocolate or nuts.

Ingredients:
1 sleeve of saltine crackers
1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
1 cup dark brown sugar
approximately 24oz white chips, doesn't need to be exact

Tools/supplies:
A disposable cookie sheet that is not flat, must have sides
regular cookie sheet for support
space in the fridge for the cookie sheet
heat resistant spatula
saucepan
oven
hammer or mallet wrapped in a dishcloth

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Arrange the crackers in a flat layer on the disposable cookie sheet. Put the disposable tray on the regular cookie sheet for support.

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add brown sugar and stir. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into the tray over the crackers. Spread with spatula to cover crackers evenly. Put the tray in the oven and bake for 7 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the white chips. You can do this very easily in the microwave. Just cook for a minute and stir, then repeat until melted. Chips will keep their shape while melting, so don't skip the stirring step. When the tray comes out of the oven after 7 minutes, pour the white chocolate on top and spread it evenly to the edges. Cool 1 hour, then transfer to refrigerator and cool overnight.

Pop the toffee out of the tray and break into individual pieces. You may want to use a hammer covered with a dishcloth. Store pieces in the fridge or freezer.
