It takes time to make these decisions, but I think I've officially decided that Coldplay's Viva La Vida has replaced Oingo Boingo's My Life as my favorite song of all time. My Life had a good run, about 20 years, but for the past 2 years Viva La Vida has meant so much to me that I can't call it merely an infatuation.
For the first time today I Googled the song to see if there were any interpretations as to its meaning. It sounds like most people interpret the song literally, about some historic event in which a king is deposed.
I think it's way more current than that.
