I made it from a pint of heavy cream. I started it in the blender to see what would happen, and discovered a new, faster way to make whipped cream, but at that point the blender got stuck. My blender was expensive, as I recall, so now I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as a blender that really works like you want it to. I mean just think of those people at Jamba Juice that are always pounding on the blenders just like you do at home. You'd think if anyone would have a blender that you don't have to pound on, it would be Jamba Juice. Therefore it seems that the perfect blender does not exist.
Anyway, I transferred the whipped cream to a bowl and continued with a hand mixer. After about 5 minutes it looks like scrambled eggs mixed with water. The water and the curds don't mix. Then you know it's ready.
Then you transfer the curds to a strainer and rinse them with cold water until the water runs clear. I just have a small strainer so I had to do this in 2 batches.
Press the curds in the strainer with a rubber spatula to get more water out. Then you eat it.

Fun! I love making butter. At school we put heavy cream in a small baby food jar and the kids shake, shake, shake until their arms fall off. We then add a little salt and spread it on bread....mmmmm. Hope all is well with you!
Kinda looks like ice cream, I like how you make cool things like that and the jam.
