One of Mike's favorite children's books is Make Way for Ducklings. We found it and read it in the bookstore the other day. I saw ducklings once. It was at Disneyland and we were standing in line for the Buzz Lightyear ride and I saw them swimming behind the mama duck in a nearby pond. They were the tiniest fuzziest things I'd ever seen, but I barely got a glimpse of them before they were hidden under a bridge. I got out of line and tried to get a closer look, but there was no trace of them. I think I was the only one that noticed them as they weren't getting any other attention. I wish I could see ducklings again, all down-y soft.
Speaking of down, I have recently been on a quest for the perfect down vest. I've gotten vests before but never wore them, just ended up donating them to Goodwill. Finding the perfect vest is difficult because it has to fit just so, and not hang on you like a sack. I finally decided on a couple of styles from Eddie Bauer. I bought them from the catalog but they haven't arrived yet, so I don't know if I did well or not. But now I wonder where they get the down filling. How exactly do they get all that down...I don't know...based on all the activity on ebay, down vests are extremely popular, so now I am seriously wondering where all the down jackets in the world get their down from.
